Respite care is essential for maintaining the health and well-being of caregivers responsible for long-term care. Families and caregivers may face stress, exhaustion, or other adverse effects, which can be lessened by taking a well-deserved pause from their routine responsibilities. Family or caregiver support allows them to attend to their personal affairs or enjoy a relaxing activity without feeling guilty.

ABOUT RÉPIT LASALLE
Who we are
La Maison de Répit LaSalle, which translates to LaSalle Respite Home, is an organization in LaSalle, Montréal, dedicated to offering family support and respite services to informal caregivers of individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioural disorders.
We have designed our activity program to offer fun and educational experiences to those who benefit from our care. As such, our activities and pastimes provide a chance to learn and socialize while having fun.
Our goal at Répit LaSalle is to provide caregivers with a much-needed respite while ensuring their loved ones receive the care and support they need. We proudly offer high-quality services and are dedicated to supporting your loved ones in a safe and welcoming environment.

We recognize the importance of delivering the same quality of care to those who depend on us. For this reason, we are committed to providing services that match the level of care that a dedicated parent or caregiver would offer.
Our team consists of skilled and experienced professionals in respite programs.
Our key skills
Understanding the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, behavioural disorders, or severe intellectual disabilities.
Experience working with clients who have ID-ASD-BD-SID
Understanding how to implement individualized intervention and support plans
Experience in planning and coordinating activities adapted to the individual’s needs
Knowledge of positive approach
Training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid
Our services
RESPITE CARE
Our respite services offer a well-deserved break to families and informal caregivers. We offer 4- or 8-hour blocks during weekends, with or without overnight stays, to suit individual needs.
Given the limited number of spots available for overnight stays, we recommend that our clients reserve in advance.
ACTIVITIES AND PASTIMES
We have designed our activity program to offer enjoyable and educational experiences to your loved one.
Our suggested activities and leisure options promote opportunities for learning and socialization, and for developing new skills while having fun.
Sensory activities
Finger painting, play dough, music, and dance.
Leisure activities
Noard games, puzzles, and movie nights.
Creative projects
Designing jewelry, creating greeting cards, and DIY projects.
Cooking activities
Helping with meal and snack preparation while promoting the person’s independence and autonomy.
Community activities
Visits to the park, outings to the pool, city trips, and cultural events.
Integration
IN SMOOTHNESS
Before arriving at the respite center, the parent or caregiver must complete a form to assess their needs. Afterward, we will contact you by phone to validate the information you have provided in the form.
This personalized approach allows us to offer interventions tailored to each person’s needs and ensure a safe environment for all.

Our
Starting from 40$/hour
The rates we offer for respite care are based on the level of supervision required, which is determined after an assessment conducted by a qualified professional.
